Health & Safety Documentation - Site visits
Prior to a site visit, our office staff will forward by email all the Health & Safety Documentation required. Risk assessment, Method Statement, Methodology, H&S Policy and proof of £10m Public Liability cover. If the inspector has not been to your site before, he will usually require a site induction to ensure that we comply with your site requirements. The inspector should sign in your visitors book for Fire Regulations and sign out again after the visit.
Equipment Inspection Identification & Tagging
Equipment that has been inspected should ideally be marked up clearly, so that it can be seen that the items are within current LOLER examination and when the next due date for inspection is. We use durable marine quality stickers, barcodes and numbered tags. PAT testing of electrical items used in harsh engineering environments are stickered up with a Permatag, the UK's strongest label. Cable ties of small lifting tackle is cable tied with a numbered and coloured tag scheme. Forklifts and associated equipment have a next date due sticker visible from a distance and a barcode for equipment identification.
When you look at your Thorough Examination reports, these will identify the equipment by fleet, serial number and any numbered tagging. So if smaller items of lifting equipment move around, you will be able to identify by these cables, tags or barcodings.
